ISLAMIC
AWARENESS EXHIBITION
Framlingham, Suffolk, June 2006
A
joint project of
Framlingham Unitarians, Jam'iat Ihyaa` Minhaaj Al-Sunnah &
Suffolk Inter-Faith Resource
 |
Why
are the Unitarians hosting it?
-
Although
we Unitarians are rooted in liberal Protestant
Christianity, it is our view that:
God transcends our sectarian divisions.
-
All
people of goodwill worship the same Divine Reality
when they do so 'in spirit and in truth'.
-
Although
faith traditions differ in important ways, we
should focus more on what we share than on what
can divide us.
-
While
not pretending that all religions are the same,
we recognise that all constructive belief arises
from the spiritual impulse that is common to all
humanity.
-
We
regard positive religious tolerance and mutual
understanding as crucial in the modern world.
This is as true in Suffolk as in the whole 'global
village'. We host this exhibition in the hope
that it will further these goals.
Rev.
Clifford Reed, minister. Ray Seal, lay-pastor.
