TEECH is an aid charity called and short for Telecom's Eastern European Challenge. It specialises in renovation and refurbishing projects. This year they intend to take out a group of about 25 volunteers to refurbish a home for mentally handicapped children in Romania, which is run by a small English charity called Rake. This charity uses all its money in caring for the children and has none left over for much needed building maintenance.

They will travel out to Romania for two weeks in August to carry out a work project to put in new bathrooms and cure the severe damp problem in the main home, and renovate a flat nearby that they intend to use for the older and more capable children to help them towards independent living.

These children were rescued from the local mental institution by Rake and are now blossoming under the care of an English special needs teacher called Helen. Some have recovered enough to attend the local school, others will need a life time of care. Rake will always primarily need their money to care for the children. TEECH will help by making their home more comfortable and warm.
